This summer school is organized by the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces (MPI) and is related to and co-financed by the project STREP "Active Biomics" financed from the European Commission under the sixth framework program.

The summer school will take place from  6 to 7 Sept 2007 at the Max Planck Institute of Colloids and Interfaces in Potsdam.

The interdisciplinary topics that will be covered during this school are:

• Proteins,
  
• Molecular motors and transport,
  
• Filaments,
  
• Membranes

Each topic will be addressed by one or more lecturers, from the staff of the MPI. The lectures will introduce some basic concepts that are useful to more actively participate in the STREP Workshop on September 10-11.

Nevertheless, the school is open to any MSc and PhD students interested in these topics.
